The Three A's

Awareness, Acceptance, Action

Awareness involves recognizing that a problem or dysfunction exists and needs to be addressed. Acceptance is the often challenging process of acknowledging that while the problem is a part of you, it does not define you entirely. It is just one piece of the broader picture of your life, and if it no longer fits, it needs to be addressed. Action is the implementation of a plan to regain and restore aspects affected by the dysfunction, such as self-esteem, serenity, balance, and hope. Ask yourself these questions: 

  • What kind of world would I envision if given the opportunity to shape it? 
  • Would I prefer to exist in an environment characterised by chaos, anxiety, and danger, or one that is marked by serenity, peace, and hope?


You have the authority to determine what is acceptable and what is unacceptable for yourself. Perhaps the most crucial question to consider is: 

  • How do I want to live today?
